Technology has given us the ability to make more sense out of our lives by tracking, measuring and analyzing our day-to-day activities to enhance personal and professional productivity.

As more humans look to improve their standard of living and attain a sense of well-being and comfort, investments are being made by individuals, private and public institutions towards education, healthcare, housing and energy to future-proof themselves and their community from personal and professional turbulence. Amidst such a scenario, the interplay of humans, materials science, electronic devices and the life sciences will create new ways of living, working and earning.

It is really about the fundamentals. Clean food, clean water, clean energy, clean clothes and clean housing. Both individuals and governments need to come together and deliver services and products at scale in order to achieve all five aspects. Today, at Bangalore Insider we spoke to Devesh Singh Vishen, the founder and CEO of Crafting Innovation, who gave us a few insights into his entrepreneurial journey while founding a Smart Solutions company.

Give a brief info about your startup?

Crafting Innovation is a smart solution based company powered by IOT, AI and DEEP Machine Learning. The company provides multiple smart solutions for multiple problems. For Example Smart home automation to automate the house and its utilities to give a better experience, Smart Water meter to monitor your water consumption via phone and control it in multiple ways thus helps you save water, Smart Parking systems for easy car parking, Smart Irrigation system for timely watering the landscape, Smart electricity management for better usage of your property lights thus can save 30% overall electricity, Smart access cards and RFIDs for easy accessibility of amenities and few more smart services for smarter living.

The company also has a wing into Health Tech space with its flagship product which is a vein detector to find veins and help doctors and nurses in easy and precise injection process.

What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?

I always had dreams to bring innovative solutions to solve issues of fellow friends. This is my 3rd startup after successfully running two ventures into the Social and Advertising domain. It was time to explore the Deep Tech Space, coming from a computer science background I always had a dream to run a Tech Venture.

We are solving multiple issues and problem that a house owner or a Builder goes through, As we know the real estate space is gradually heading towards smart technology and thus every builder is trying to install smart services to their properties and right from smart security to smart home automation and to accomplish this a builder has to install multiple apps of multiple service offered by multiple vendors thus resulting in more cost, non uniformity and slow execution in services.

Thus We are A one stop solution for all your smart services needs customised and configured for Individual properties.

Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?

To start the journey I took a bold decision of dropping off from my Engineering Course which I was  pursuing at BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore.I was in 3rd year of  Computer Science engineering when I dropped off and started my first venture CauseKey Social in 2016, Later in 2017 founded my second venture CauseKey Films(film making production house)

Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?

Crafting Innovation is mainly based out of Bangalore. By the mid of this year  we are expanding to Mumbai and Delhi together. Bangalore has always had a supporting atmosphere for startups with abundant no of mentors to guide and a community to trade with. I feel  lucky to start off from Bangalore.

As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?

I think being a dropout and starting up a business brings huge risks and responsibilities simultaneously but at the same time gives you a mind set of not looking back, and thus I believe that

I don’t have an option of failing or losing so every time.

And then when you are heading your third venture after two successful ones you set the bar too high for yourself and it always has to be better than before. I prepare myself from the challenges coming ahead and you know preparing is not easy when you are running a multi product venture. It results in converting your night into  day, keeping you awake to make strategies for tomorrow.

Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?

Currently Crafting Innovation doesn’t has any direct competitions but there are definitely few players into Smart space giving slight similar  services but we believe that we are taking over something that none of them are able to deploy at one uniform platform.

How hard is it to have a work-life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?

I don’t see it as a concern because I believe when we start something out of passion, then your work is your life and vice versa so both compliment each other bringing the ultimate  inner satisfaction.

Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no then please tell us if you are looking to raise.

No we are a Bootstrapped start-up and currently we are not open for funding.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?

I have not encountered any such situation yet, I think I have been constantly making efforts to make myself very clear right from the very beginning of my venture and straight at every presence.

What gets you excited about this company?

Crafting Innovation is something that can inspire the world for the next generations technology, the markets are huge and knowing the fact you are working with something that has a potential to reach every corner of the world and is going to bring a solution  to every individual in some or the other way.

Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.

Waking up early and then hitting the gym is a static routine in my life other than that i guess everything is unplanned and dynamic,

Morning reach at office by 9 am attend the team, check the to do list and the pending and then race to finish them. Mostly i have 3-4 meetings everyday which takes half of my day and then other office work, yes i skip lunch most of the time as i find it boring and find it tough to prioritize it over work.

The board members of the company mostly stay late thus we have a great time every evening discussing strategies and forthcoming plans.

I leave the office late mostly by 12 sometimes even late.  And sometimes I do try saving some time for my favorite TV series VIKINGS post dinner.

Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?

So the best Part of the Conversation comes at the end. The story how i met my co-founder  SHIVARAJ PD is just amazing it was a State level Startup Competition where he was presenting his idea and i was among the four jury members, later he turned to be the winner of that startup competition, while he was presenting i saw a spark and i felt a connection later to this when we started talking it was then we decided that let’s venture together.

I would like to take an opportunity to thank god for being blessed with the best team in the world. A Team of 20 young and innovative minds leads the show, all coming from different places, few from abroad with a background majorly in engineering, media and journalism fields. The journey started with two of us, me and shubh from the same college, he did not drop out though, later following the law of attraction, we hired few more passionate minds who wished to make the world a better place to live in.
