Meet Madhu Chandrika, she is the founder of Earthen Symphony Design Studio. She started her design studio in 1995.
What I love about my field of work is that no 2 days are alike! The creativity, the ingenuity, the interaction with my team and the varied work that I create. For each brief, the inputs will be different, the thought process, concept creation and the artwork would be different, says Madhu.
We got an opportunity to talk with Madhu, and see what she has to say. I am sure her interview with us will inspire you.
Hi, this is MadhuChandrika, Founder Director of Earthen Symphony Design Studio which is functioning since 1995. What I love about my field of work is that no 2 days are alike! The creativity, the ingenuity, the interaction with my team and the varied work that I create. For each brief, the inputs will be different, the thought process, concept creation and the artwork would be different. Using one’s imagination, keeping in touch with new developments and translating that into a piece of art!
It was straigh tout of college that I took up my creative pursuit. Earthen Symphony studio was launched in August 1995 out of a friend’s father’s garage immediately on graduating! So I havent worked anywhere before and whatever I have learnt is by experimenting !
It was a natural progression from my passion to profession. I had an innate desire to create and to beautify all kinds of spaces.
During my college years I put up my first exhibition in May 1994 as a student at the Chitra Kala Parishath College of Fine Arts in Bangalore. The show was a whopping success and from thereon, there was no looking back!
Earthen Symphony studio was launched in August 1995 with a tiny seed capital, operating out of a friend’s father’s garage initially. Today we have a steady work force of 40 personnel and 2 workshops. Manipal Group, Adani Realty, Brigade group, Cellcom, ITC, Deloitte, JW Marriott, Infosys, Accenture are some of our esteemed clients!
It would definitely be art and design related, I cannot even imagine an alternate scenario! For me, design is my passion, art is my life my livelihood!!
Inherent fervor for the work I do, enthusiasm and zeal for the artworks I create, witnessing the process of creation, culmination of my ideas into marketable products …… gives me a very big high!
My day starts at 5.45am . I start by putting my thoughts together for the day with regards to meetings and work schedules as I prepare to send my son off to school. 7am to 8.30 am is my time to shoot out mails and replies and agenda for the day to my team. 9 am is when I leave for my studio. At the studio, there is always high energy activity and a buzz going on ! be it either design discussions, production detailing or meeting clients. There’s never a dull moment! Most of the days I have site visits or presentations at clients offices. I leave from work around 6.30pm. Once I reaach home I have just enough time to walk my dog Choco and by the time by fitness trainer arrives. I enjoy my workouts which I find very stress relieving ! i work out for about an hour and from 9 pm to 11pm is my undisturbed focus time for doing my design and sketching for new projects as during the day at the studio. ! My day ends at 11pm most of the days.
None! I do not believe in looking back, dwelling on things, or comparing myself with others. I believe in giving more than my 100% at every step so I don’t have to look back and think that I should have done just that bit more!
Oh! There are so many !! I am inspired my so many people! I could start by meeting Shah Rukh Khan! His energy levels, devotion to his craft and clarity of thought is intriguing! Plus he is a marketing genius!
I don’t know if they have any……. we would have to ask them. I am what I am.
With what I do as an artist maybe there could be some as people don’t know the depth of our services .
Any message that you want to send to your readers? What I would like to convey here is ….. you must have a dream, follow your dreams, reach out for the stars, don’t be afraid to take the road less traveled, work crazy hard, don’t expect miracles, but if you have a plan and a dream , you will surely land up at the top of the heap!!
