Give a brief info about your startup?

In the age of digital transformation, millennials are on the constant lookout for a place with the culture of hyper collaboration, enabling them to work, live, and play. We, at IndiQube, simplify the workspace by amplifying the possibilities of collaboration.

Our dynamic design and integrated workspace approach offer professionals and corporates with an ecosystem capable of sustaining competitive advantage while allowing them to focus on things that matter to their business by providing managed smart workspaces (coworking and dedicated).

A power combo of flexibility and scalability makes IndiQube a preferred destination among professionals and corporates to work. We are the true growth partner, helping them seamlessly expand and grow in the same location without worrying about the hassles of searching, shifting and managing new space. Companies can grow from 1 seat in the co-working space to a 500-seater dedicated office.

Having over 2 million sq ft of cumulative office space spread across 30+ buildings in different cities including Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai, IndiQube is home to more than 300 startups, growing companies, and large enterprises including RedBus, Bluestone, Scripbox, Fresh Menu, No Broker, Edureka, Playment, Bira91, and many more. Our client list also includes ODCs (Offshore Development Centers) like Levis, Rubrik, Thoughtspot, Fungible, Cleo, Eximius and others.

What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?

When we (I and Rishi) set up the CareerNet Consulting / HirePro office space from scratch, we had first-hand experience of the strain on resources for a startup. We realised that the business world was full of entrepreneurs who needed to find the ideal space to grow their business, without having to worry about the everyday hassles of setting up and running a company efficiently. IndiQube was born out of that need and from the very beginning, has been focused on being a Growth Catalyst for evolving companies with integrity, innovation and value at the heart of everything it does.

We strive hard to enrich the employee experience with the help of technology that starts right from the building itself. With green and solar initiatives taking over our buildings and IoT being stormed in every nook and corner, providing a superior employee experience is what we would never miss on.

Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?

Although I belong to a business-oriented family, I took up entrepreneurship as an accident and out of ignorance. When I relocated to Bengaluru with an MBA Degree in Finance in my hand from IMT Ghaziabad, I stumbled upon the need to bridge the gap in the recruitment field which was gaining its momentum back then and offer a platform where companies could recruit employees hassle-free. That is when I co-founded HirePro Consulting in 2003, and there has been no looking back since then.

Later, I ventured into the manufacturing sector with UltraFine Minerals which is a leading manufacturer of Dolomite, Soapstone Powder, and Calcite Powder, imported from Vietnam and Malaysia.

After being bitten by the start-up bug, I decided to look further into the problems that exist in setting up an office space. Thus, IndiQube was born in 2015, which is currently one of the leading coworking space providers in the country.

Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?

IndiQube is headquartered in Bengaluru with its wings spread across multiple cities in India including Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai. These cities are known as the startup hubs of the country and are home to millennials, having a diverse workforce with a large amount of startup and entrepreneur base, making them a perfect choice for us.

Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?

We face competition in small pockets. Mostly, our competitors are operating in coworking segment catering to companies will less than 20 seats. However, IndiQube diaspora is large and we operate across workspace segments. Our clients include professionals with 1 seat going up to enterprises with 500 seats and above.

The needs of a hot desking client are different from clients who take up private cabins, and further different from an enterprise client. Over the last few years, we, at IndiQube, have developed the expertise to cater to these dynamic needs and onboarded them into our growing ecosystem.

Diverse client base with flexibility and growth options, and a strong community are the key differentiators of IndiQube.

How hard is it to have a work life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?

No matter how cliché it sounds but when one loves his/her work then there is no balancing required. Prioritization is the key. Further, strong ecosystem and efficient team at both family and home plays a very crucial role.

Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no, then please tell us if you are looking to raise.

We have recently raised Series A funding of 15 Million USD from WestBridge Capital. IndiQube’s growth will be fuelled by this funding and we are looking at high phase growth.

As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?

I will not say paranoia but onboarding right set of people and culture is very crucial especially in the beginning of one’s journey. The team members are our company Brand Ambassadors and thus we are extremely cautious while choosing the right people. I am born insomniac so not sure my disease keeps me up or my business 🙂 Client deals, new product / service launch, and sometimes kids keep me awake at night.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?

People usually mistake me for a person with rigidity and strong options. But, in reality, I believe I am quite flexible. I usually converse with force which makes people think that I am a rigid human being.
What gets you excited about this company?

Workspace is getting disrupted and the way people are looking at Office space is going through sea change. What was popular yesterday may not be the trend today, especially with the majority of workforce being millennials. This constant evolution in the industry adds in new challenges to the work front, thus increasing the excitement levels.

Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night

Being insomniac comes with its own disadvantages. And the biggest one is I am a late riser. Unlike other business leaders, my day starts little late. Most of my day is usually spent with my business development, design, project & marketing teams.

Since our project timelines are steep and we work on very tight schedules, a close watch on designs and projects becomes important. Sometimes I am pulled into the clients meeting if its large MNCs or strategic for IndiQube’s growth and brand.

Late evenings are spent with kids and after putting them to bed, the second innings of calls and update starts. My team is used to working late night as well. So, all the updates and catch up happens then. I try to keep my travel limited and prefer day trips.
