Pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports globally, has found its home in Bengaluru, thanks to GoRally, a dedicated pickleball facility. We caught up with the founders of GoRally, Sam and Abhinav, to explore their journey, vision, and the vibrant community they’ve cultivated
Bengaluru’s love for racquet sports and its tech-savvy, active population inspired the founders to introduce pickleball to the city. With its social nature and ease of learning, the sport aligns perfectly with the city’s dynamic vibe.
“We saw Bengaluru as the perfect place to bring pickleball—a sport that’s inclusive, engaging, and community-driven,” they shared.
The founders left their corporate careers to pursue their passion for recreational sports, launching GoRally with the vision of inspiring 10 million Indians to play sports regularly. Their discovery of pickleball—a sport they describe as “the perfect vehicle” for their mission—was a turning point.
Building the facility came with its share of challenges, including operational hurdles like garbage disposal, parking, and weather-related issues. Despite these, GoRally now boasts Bengaluru’s largest digital pickleball community.
“Scaling has its challenges, but it’s rewarding to see the impact we’ve made,” they said.
GoRally isn’t just about the courts; it’s about the experience. Their facilities are designed to foster community connections, offering events like open play sessions, DUPR days, and tournaments. The spaces are vibrant, complete with music, plants, and cafes, creating an inviting atmosphere.
“We’ve built a community of over 2,000 members who play, connect, and help newcomers get started. Our focus is on making our courts more than just a place to play—they’re places people want to hang out.”
The pickleball scene in Bengaluru has seen exponential growth in 2024. What began as a niche sport has now become a community favorite.
GoRally’s first Bengaluru Open in April attracted numerous first-time players, and the numbers have only grown since. With 4 centers, 15 courts, and over 5,000 players visiting their facilities, GoRally is at the forefront of this surge.
For those new to the sport, GoRally offers beginner clinics and monthly coaching sessions led by top Karnataka players like Ranjit and Gowtham. Their programs cater to all skill levels, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to improve.
From venture capital deals to first dates, GoRally has become more than just a sports facility.
“Hearing these stories and knowing our courts are a significant part of people’s lives is incredibly rewarding,” the founders shared.
Booking a court at GoRally is simple through the Hudle app. They also keep their WhatsApp community and Instagram followers updated on games, events, and tournaments.
Looking ahead, GoRally aims to expand with 4 more centers and 25 additional courts by March 2025. The founders are excited to continue growing Bengaluru’s pickleball community, introducing even more people to the sport.
March 2025 will see GoRally’s biggest tournament yet, featuring competitive play, exciting prizes, and a vibrant atmosphere. They’re also planning pickleball “parties” early next year, complete with themed games, music, and surprises.
“Pickleball is easy to learn and a ton of fun. Whether you’re looking for a family activity or a great cardio workout, it’s perfect for all ages. Join us for a beginner clinic or a casual game—everyone is welcome!”
With their passion and commitment, GoRally is helping to make pickleball a household name in Bengaluru.
