Good news for the people of Bangalore. Finally, the people of Bangalore will be able to cross the dreaded Silk Board junction without having to wait for a lifetime. The traffic jams of Silk Board are the stuff of legends. Even the mighty Gods prefer not to get stuck in that time loop. On Friday, BBMP and BMRCL mutually agreed to share cost to build an integrated flyover and metro track from Ragigudda temple in Jayanagar 9th block to Silk Board junction. The total project costs Rs 800 crore.
It will be a four lane road covering roughly 4 km between the two points on the ring road in south Bengaluru and is estimated to be worth Rs 330 crores. The flyover was announced in the budget of 2016-17. N Manjunath Prasad, BBMP Commissioner said, “Out of the total cost for building the elevated road, BBMP has agreed to pay Rs 100 crores to BMRCL and the latter will execute the entire project.”
