Rhymly is a New Delhi based startup founded by Arpan Khosla. Rhymly is especially created with the vision to help creative writers to search rhymes & meanings of Hindi words.

We help Poets, Shayars, Songwriters, Rappers, ad agencies, jingle writers, etc. save a lot of time on their art pieces, break their writer’s block, create more & a better quality of content & concentrate only on creativity while leaving the Vocabulary part to us, says Arpan.

We got an opportunity to talk with Arpan, the founder of Rhymly and see what he has to say. I am sure his interview with us will inspire you.

Give a brief info about your startup?

Rhymly is a one-stop content tech platform that helps budding creative writers search rhymes & meanings of Hindi words, create original couplets while rhyming on the fly, discover & share awesome content & also get themselves featured on the app every day.

We help Poets, Shayars, Songwriters, Rappers, ad agencies, jingle writers, etc. save a lot of time on their art pieces, break their writer’s block, create more & a better quality of content & concentrate only on creativity while leaving the Vocabulary part to us.

What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?

I have always felt that writing as a professional career can only earn if it is creativity & deadline based. Also, I saw a lot of writers around me having incomplete artistic pieces all the time, getting submerged with one poem for 6 months, not having a personalised digital resource to help them write better & share with people.

Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?

I have been a Poet & Creative writer for more than 10 years now. I call myself a POMEDIAN ( Poet + Comedian ) & have performed in over 400+ events in Delhi under the brand name KHOSLA KA HAUSLA. I do a lot of funny poems, comical ghazals & aim to entertain people all the time.

Before this, I was working with Airtel as an Assistant Manager. Also, I was /am working on another startup in the content domain called Game of Predictions.

Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?

We are based out of New Delhi. It’s the best place for us at the moment as we have a lot of contacts here & also have a lot of potential partners & user base in the city.

As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?

I’m really paranoid about creativity in everything. I’m also paranoid about getting the right word out about our venture in the market. As of now, PR & the outcome of our startup marketing tactics keep me awake at night.

Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?

Our competition includes English Rhyme engines like Rhymezone, Dictionary apps like Google translate & Shabdkosh, Content creation apps like Haiku Jam & Yourquote & Content discovery platforms like Terribly Tiny tales.

We have  a unique proposition than our competition as we cover the entire process of short content rhyming, writing, storing, sharing & discovering on a single platform & a creative writer doesn’t need to go to multiple platforms for all these things.

How hard is it to have a work-life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?

Well, it is very difficult as I wake up with Rhymly & sleep with it too. But, I manage & find time to write poetry, perform poetry & comedy shows & also spend some time in gym.

Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no then please tell us if you are looking to raise.

No, we haven’t raised funding as of now but are actively looking for seed funding.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?

People think because I do funny poetry & crack jokes, there’s no deep side to me. But, the truth is completely opposite. I’m a very philosophical person & I’m more of a poet than a comedian.

What gets you excited about this company?

The idea to connect the world through rhymes really excites me. Also, to dream about writers saving time & eventually monetizing makes me feel really good our venture.

Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.

I sleep at 3 30, get up at 9 . Work from 9-12. Gym from 12-2. Work again from 2 30-5 . Then, go for a poetry show from 6-8. Come back & start working from 9 30-12. Write poetry & jokes from 12-2. Work again from 2-3 30 am.

Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?

Aakansha is a mutual friend & Vishal is my college junior. We were working on Game of Predictions venture when the idea of Rhymly struck us. So, therefore we had synergy since the start & our visions were completely aligned.
