What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?

We researched and found that there is a vacuum of good authentic north Indian food in Bengaluru. So we tied up with branded north Indian cuisines – PUNJAB GRILL (LITE FOOD BITES)  to bring their cuisines to Bengaluru.

We found that there is a huge cluster of customers who are spending a good amount of money to get an authentic north Indian food, but they are deprived of it, even spending a lot of money. So that’s what were decided our startup to bring good north Indian cuisine to Bengaluru.

Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?

Well, my self and my co-founder were in a corporate job, working in Power energy Sector with Business giants – ADANI, LANCO, ESSAR and many more. In my long 17 years corporate journey, I worked 10 years in CHINA.  We used to set up and run power stations with a capacity of 500 MW 600 MW 1000 MW and more.

Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?

We have a startup in South Bengaluru, but were are looking options throughout Bengaluru and also other cities like PUNE, Hyderabad etc.

We think the business opportunities in Bengaluru and Pune is much more, as these are developing cities of INDIA.

As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?

Well, we trust our vision, however for continuous growth and expansion,  every business needs funds and for that we are working on it.

Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?

I think on a national level there are no competitors as of now.

How hard is it to have a work-life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?

It is very easily manageable if you have strong back support. For me, My wife, Anisha Banerjee, who also runs a startup name – Mira’s Ranna Ghor, ( a Bengali Cuisine) is strong support and deals alone with everything on my absence also she holds an executive role in STARTBEENS LLP. Secondly, I have strong family support from my Brother – Rajib Banerjee, Baudi – Anurima Banerjee, My Father – M.R.Banerjee & Mother – Sabita Banerjee.

For a startup, if ones get a family support, it becomes very easy in many ways.

Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no then please tell us if you are looking to raise.

For the first outlet, we didn’t required. but for the next projects, we are in talks with some agencies.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?

I haven’t figured it out

What gets you excited about this company?

Any Start up itself is very exciting. We have a vision and we are keen to achieve that.

Coming back I check all the emails, then i visit the site, where the first outlet is being constructed.

afternoon i come back and have lunch and go back to the office for a day to day work. In the evening I visit group of enterprenuer to discuss the problems we face in our business. In evening I normally at home with family and kids. I am very health conscious and always avoid outside food. I take 6-7 meals a days with all the meals packed with me.
