The Quarry Adventures – a carefully crafted space that is designed to connect the discerning tourist to nature, the land and its people, to make for an authentic and exciting travel experience. While there is a large focus around stay and a huge array of options to choose from, Coorg boasts of its landscape and we chose to focus primarily on putting that to use with our space and giving people an essence of the outdoors in terms of adventure. Today’s travellers are looking for an experience to take back from a place beyond just the comfort of stay and having seen touristic places around, that is exactly where we stand apart and extend the experience to everyone that visits us.
I’ve been an adventurer at heart since childhood. Beginning with scaling rocks and mountains, to Commercial deep sea diving before staring up The Quarry Adventures.
The Quarry Adventurs is located in Madenad, Madikeri, Coorg.
Coorg has become a very popular tourist destination in the past few years. The hilly lay of the land with its bountiful nature, coffee plantations and the wonderful Western Ghats makes for an ideal location for many holidaymakers to experience all kinds of adventure on land, water and air and thus is the best place for us to be. Also being local help.
The paranoia is always on to how to scale the model we currently work with. Having a perpetual money crunch is another constant worry.
We currently are not really competing with anyone in this space as we offer a wholesome “adventure activity only” place. Having experienced many adventures around the world, it only made sense creating an opportunity for others who have only seen and dreamt of experiencing adventure.
In the beginning, the focus lay on perfecting the first stage of the company, perfecting adventure to be made possible for every kind of person and making all of the adventure activities a 100% safe. Having chosen this field of Work, life is extremely fulfilling doing what we love and that totally helps balancing life.
We have had our share of trying to raise funding in the initial stages and weren’t very successful as it is a fairly new kind of business venture. Now that we do have a great product, sold over 2500 experiences in 2 years and still have the passion going about it, we are definitely looking at possibly finding an inverstor(s) who are in sync with our goals, and who would help propel us into a premier national or even international experiential destination.
Having been in the space of adventure and being able to extend the same experience to guests in the way that I vision it brings excitement every single day in what I do. It is even more satisfying to read all those reviews or hear out a guest or see the expression on ones face once they’ve completed the entire circuit brings a sense of satisfaction that we must be doing something right!
My day begins fairly early, where in I make my daily task lists, catch up on the social media handles, replying to business mails and a quick refresher of any new techniques and new adventures happening around the world. Love to spend time with my pets before I head off to The Quarry.
Once at the Quarry, I quickly do a thorough check of the equipment’s, catch up on the accounts.
I love to be around at all times when we have bookings to give a personalised fulfilling experience to all my guests.
Usually, love to stay and see the sun setting into the hills,. Before heading back home to catch up with the wife and our dogs.
The core of our Quarry team comprises of the brothers Sai Muthanna & Sai Giri Bopanna, who, being local Coorg coffee planters always loved the outdoors and adventure. They have been running a campsite and also had a few adventure activities at the campsite. A chance
