How did you become an influencer?

I always loved wearing stylish outfits since my childhood. I inherited that from my parents. I was posting my outfits on various online portals for the past few years and was getting requests to start blogging. Initially, I ignored the requests due to time crunch. However, eventually I gave it a serious thought and started pursuing my passion for fashion with my blog.

What is the area that you influence in (like fashion, travel etc)?

Its all about STYLISH lifestyle at “Stylish By Nature”. Here you will find blogs about Fashion, Beauty, Travel, Food and Fitness.

What three things does anyone starting in your industry need to know?

I pursued my blog after a serious thought and consideration. The main challenge is Plagiarism. Here are the three things that I think anyone starting today should know

  • I have started ignoring the people who copy me to my bones. People can copy your style but not your soul.
  • Remember to be original. Readers can see through.
  • Make sure you are your toughest competition. Learn from my own mistakes and move on.

How did you become an influencer?

Influencing for me started when I felt that my voice on the social media platform was something that people liked listening to. I believe in originality and relatability as the keys to success. And when I saw that people liked the raw version of me more than the made up version, I realised that that’s something we need to promote on social media more than just makeup and fashion.

What is the area that you influence in (like fashion, travel etc)?

My area of influence is body positivity, motivational speaking, beauty, fashion, good deed Saturday and much more!

What 3 things does anyone starting in your industry need to know?

Before starting in this field you need to remember to be:

  • Original before anything else: don’t try to fit into trends just because everyone is doing it. Stay as true to your personality as possible.
  • Be vulnerable: you need to show people the raw side of your personality, the one without masks. The one that is the true you. People will love you more and find you more relatable that way.
  • Never succumb to the social media standard: do not listen to others when they say you need to follow a certain trend or do a certain thing to grow. Do what your instinct tells you.

Pranwesha:

Pranwesha started her blogging journey five years ago. While working as a software engineer she was also pursuing her career in modelling after grad school. She was always inclined towards fashion and designing. Her creative inclination and love for designing has made her pursue her passion. She has always loved to experiment with her looks and her love for fashion inspired her to create her own sense of style and share it with everyone. She is so glad that we exist in this era of social media that makes it so easy for an individual to voice their opinions.

I have always been inclined towards fashion and have loved experimenting with new trends and I’m glad that I got to make a career of my passion.

She goes back in time and shares with us how she used to write her blogs at work while working eighteen hours a day. It was her passion and that is the reason it never felt like a burden to her. It would come to her naturally. For her, as well as countless other people, the idea of being your own boss is quite liberating. When she began her journey, she did not have a plan – she didn’t know where she would be five years later or how on earth she would make a living out of her passion. But she went ahead. She just made the most of everyday, every opportunity that came her way and made sure that she learnt something more than the previous day.
Now when she looks back at all those years of toil, it fills her heart with happiness and content.

How did you become an influencer?

As an engineering student, I have grown up to love design.

In grad school, I have learnt to experiment with my spaces, this has also helped me immensely with my personal style. I have enjoyed playing with trends, colours, patterns and textures. I have always been inclined towards fashion and have loved experimenting with new trends and i’m glad that I got to make a career of my passion.

FashConfessions is my perception to fashion, travel and lifestyle. It feels great to know that my work is being acknowledged and I’m grateful for the recognition I’ve receiived from my audience.

What is the area that you influence in (like fashion, travel etc)?

Fashion, Travel & Lifestyle.

What three things does anyone starting in your industry need to know?

Identify your niche:

It is crucial to decide what you write about and stay focused on that niche. There are already a lot of blogs. You’ll have to figure out how to make your blog stand out from the crowd. Choose a topic you are passionate about and do not expand it too broadly.

Define your target audience. Get a clear answer to the following question. Who are your subscribers? Identify their needs, interests and concerns. It will help you come up with good topics to write about and cater to the audience’s requirements.

Content is King – Quality over quantity:

Content marketers and pro bloggers are often faced with an argument ‘Quality vs Quantity‘. Quantity matters to increase and maintain your traffic, but you should still focus on quality over quantity.

If your readers get value from the information in your articles, they will engage and become your regular audience. On the other hand, nobody will like your blog if you publish shallow and uninformative articles.

Be authentic:

Always be yourself. By being authentic and real, you can build trust with your audience. People buy from people they trust. It takes years to build trust and just a matter of minutes to ruin it. Be open and interact with your readers. Be the first one to admit mistakes and apologize. Always remember, your subscribers follow you for ‘who you are and not who you portray to be.’

Megha Singh:

Megha is an entrepreneur and an influencer who is currently working on her second startup. She is a marketing entrepreneur and she often juggles between Bangalore and Dubai for her work.

With zero marketing budget, I had to get creative. I couldn’t afford to pay an influencer or a blogger at the time, so I became one.

How did you become an influencer?

I started as an entrepreneur. I had a fashion e-commerce company called “Revoure” and when I first started it, I spent all my money on buying inventory. With zero marketing budget, I had to get creative. I couldn’t afford to pay an influencer or a blogger at the time, so I became one.

What is the area that you influence in (like fashion, travel etc)?

I would say lifestyle. I travel a ton and live in between different cities so usually my content revolves around that.

What 3 things does anyone starting in your industry need to know?

  • Take inspiration; don’t copy: It’s important to get this right. There is only one of you and that is your unique selling point.
  • Think like a business: Your social pages are like landing pages. Think about converting every viewer into a follower.
  • Community building is all about conversations: If you reply to comments and messages, people feel like they are a part of your community. Don’t isolate people who take time out of their day to write to you. I try to do this as much as I can.

Say “No” to “Negative” News & Stories. Start your day with Positivity.
