Waste Is Gold was founded with a vision to provide reliable, long-lasting, 360-degree solution for disposal and treatment of all types of waste and reduction of the landfills. With a team of advisers and investors that have decades of experience behind them Waste Is Gold is fast becoming the one-stop solution for all waste related solutions.

 

 

What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?

The current ineffective waste management system in India and the world where more than 90% of total waste goes to landfills  has made me think of the solutions that is where i had decided to solve the problem . waste is gold’s 360° waste management solutions focuses on fastest composting technologies developed in house and recycling of dry recyclable waste results in reducing and recycling up to 90 % of total waste .

 

 

Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?

Before starting waste is gold i was into renewable energy venture named energeo technologies LLP which focuses on new source of energy generation , solar power , wing energy  , thermal energy etc. and has been doing research on waste management technologies for past 5 years before launching waste is gold’s fastest composting technologies .

 

 

Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?

Our company is based out of Bangalore which is a plus point for us as this city doesn’t discriminate you based on how big or small you are , people will accept your products as long as you give right solutions and products .

 

 

As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?

It is the purpose of my venture which is  to put a stop to all the landfills across the world keeps me awake at night often  . i am paranoid about the company growth and quality parameters .

 

 

Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?

Waste is gold is the only company which is involved in manufacturing recycling and composting machine  and 360° waste management services which makes unique and preferable to the clients .

Our biggest competitors is excel industries Ltd in composting machine (OWC) but our composting technology is far ahead than excel’s owc as waste is gold’s composters takes only 6 hours to convert ready to use compost in 2 to 3 days with processing of only 6 hours which is the fastest in the world whereas excel owc takes 14 to 30 days to do composting .

 

 

 

How hard is it to have a work life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?

There is no concept of work life balance if you love what you do

Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no then please tell us if you are looking to raise.

No till now we have not raised the funding but would like to have future investments up to 25cr .

What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?

I am really not bothered what people think of me as my all focuses on my purpose the rest doesn’t matter

What gets you excited about this company?

The most exciting part is the challenge  that we face to solve the problems we are working on .

 

 

Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.

Wake up at 7.00 morning starts with reading mails , replying , phone conversation , then goes to office or meet clients or vendors  and factory same day . get back to home around 10.00 again startworking on important presentation and  research papers .

 

 

Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?

In the management team:  There are three directors Shane Desouza, Shrinivas V and myself. Shane was my classmate has been working with me for the past 3 to 4 years and Shrinivas I happend to have known through a common friend, I presented the idea of waste management venture to him and have got interested thats when I had taken Shrinivas as co founder of waste is gold technologies .
