YourParty’sKitchen is a Bangalore startup by Swatisha Raj. If you are planning a party you can call them for mouth-watering dishes.

“We pay equal importance in the quality and presentation to bring a feel of the high-end restaurant to your party”, says Swatisha.

We got an opportunity to talk with Swatisha, the founder of YourParty’sKitchen and I am sure; her story will inspire you. Let’s look at her journey as an entrepreneur and see how she and her team are working hard to achieve their dreams.

Give a brief info about your startup?
YourParty’sKitchen is unique food catering and innovation company. We want to revolutionize the catering sector which suffers from mundane dishes, bad presentation, unhygienic preparation. We pay equal importance in the quality and presentation to bring a feel of high-end restaurant to your party. As innovation is the core driving factor of our company, we keep updating our menu with new finger licking, lip smacking signature dishes.
What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?
It was a series of personal experiences that encouraged us to embark on this fascinating journey.
Like most of us, we usually had a small get-together, parties at home. For eats, either we self-cook or order from restaurants nearby.
At times we tried home-based chefs as well. Being a foodie ourselves, we realized that each of these options has their unique problems.
Cooking is too cumbersome and leaves us hardly with any energy to enjoy the event.
We were fed up with ordering the same dishes again and again from the restaurants nearby.
Moreover, it is hard to trust that they follow the strict hygiene norms in cooking or use the best, fresh, healthy ingredients either. In the end, it feels we pay too much for too less.
Problem with home-chef cooked food is it generally lacks the aesthetic appeal that could make it party-worthy.
There is no standardization in quality/taste of food. Same dishes might taste way differently at times which is due to lack of professional training and experience in cooking.
Every time we would throw a party we faced with the same decisions. At times we would question what if we can get the aesthetic presentation of a high-end restaurant but maintain the taste, quality and health aspects of home cooked food. After multiple discussion and numerous round of planning, “YourParty’sKitchen” was found.
Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?
I have pursued my education in engineering.
I had been working with Oracle for 8 years s part of development team. But food has been my ever true calling of life. Once we had conceptualized YourParty’sKitchen, I quit my job to focus fully on the firm.
4. Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?
We are currently focusing in Bangalore and deliver orders to all corners of the city.We have been living here for quite some time and are aware of all the whereabouts of the city.
Bangalore boasts of the diversely cultured population and a welcoming demeanour to innovative ideas which makes it a perfect starting destination for us.
As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?
Maintaining and delivering food with unmatched quality comes with a lot of challenges. We value customer satisfaction with utmost priority. This might involve sacrifices of few sleepless night. We love what we do and hence we are not paranoid about any operational aspects. The only thing that worries us that we should not lose focus on innovation while we scale out to multiple centres and cities.
Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?
We have a unique portfolio in what we provide. We provide high-end restaurant food of good quality at the reasonable price. Our ever upgrading menu keeps customers excited about us and that makes us stand out from the competition.
How hard is it to have a work-life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?
We have an elaborate planning done on each and every order. This keeps us on-course from maintaining our delivery timelines.
It is off-course tough to have the balance at this early stages. But everything is fun if you love what you do 🙂
Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no then please tell us if you are looking to raise.
Till now we have not raised funding. The current profits are enough to sustain and achieve linear growth.
But, now since we are pushing on our expansion plan, we will be looking to raise funds for support.
What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?
We are addressing a unique problem and can be easily misunderstood as just another home caterer or restaurant. So the early challenge was to educate people of what we truly stand for. Moreover being a cloud kitchen, our customers did not have any proper avenues to actually taste our offerings in person.
As we grow and the clients keep spreading the positive word it is becoming easier day by day to convince people of what we stand for.
What gets you excited about this company?
We love what we do.
Customers are excited about our offerings. We have tasted early success on various social media forums where we maintain good customer reviews.
The future of this company seems to be very bright. I believe it will not be just successful but loved by customers.
Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.
It depends on the order sizes, timings etc. Generally, I devote my time in supervising the order preparation, quality check. Sometime in a day is reserved for experimenting on newer dish inventions.
Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?
Currently, I play the head chef role supported by a small team of cook and helper staff.Operation and delivery is taken care by my co-founder.
