Accretion Aviation: Providing Air Ambulance Servies across country

Movement is in humanity’s blood. It’s how our ancestors spread across to every corner of the world after evolving in Africa 6 to 7 million years ago. These primitive human beings traversed by foot, assimilating themselves to different environments, while bands and groups continued moving, eventually forming their own communities in disparate regions of the world. Sea and Ocean faring societies learnt how to build better boats and in due course, the oceans heralded the best way to move people across long distances. 

Today, the business of movement is one of the bedrocks upon which modern economies function efficiently. 

Movement is longer just a ‘need’ (I need to move to the doctor because I’m not well), it’s also a ‘want’ (I want to move on to another city for better economic prospects and opportunities or I want to buy a ticket to a cruise ship). The business of movement for purposes of leisure heralds all possible modes of movement, from luxury cars or buses to cruise ships or helicopters.

Today, at Bangalore Insider we spoke to Rahul Muchhal, the founder of Accretion Aviation, who told us how he’s coping with the ongoing crunch in business due to the pandemic and his future plans.

Tell us a little bit about Accretion Aviation. When did you start the company? 

Accretion Aviation is a premier company, providing a wide range luxury services to suit every need – from unparalleled chopper rides, helicopter rides, private jet bookings, luxury yacht rentals, air ambulance services, hot air balloon rentals in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Mysore, Jaipur and Goa, and everywhere else across India. We also provide helicopter services for religious pilgrimages in Kedarnath, Chardham, and Vaishnodevi.

Air Ambulances are a boon during this period for many. When did you decide to offer this service and what were the challenges? 

Air Ambulance services have been offered by us for the last 8 years. We are pioneers in the field and have successfully managed to air lift many patients. Challenges were to get the entire infrastructure in place to successfully operate a flight. More than 8 agencies are involved and to get them to come together seamlessly and ensure proper functioning in a safe, sanitised, cost effective manner was the key. We were able to overcome a lot of these challenges and since then have incorporated many best practices. 

Do you plan to keep this wing of Accretion Aviation active even after the situation becomes normal? 

Yes this will be active post lock down as well.

What is the average cost for hiring an air ambulance? Is the cost going to significantly come down in the future? 

The cost of hiring an air ambulance is typically 4-5 lacs depending on the distance. The cost has come down significantly from when we started operating it.

Which cities do you currently cover? 

We cover all cities of India and presently service more than 150 airstrips (which means at-least that many cities) using our plane air ambulance service.

What are the future plans for Accretion Aviation?
