River Weaves – Brocades of Banaras by Chandra Jain:
This exhibition is a tribute to India’s living textile heritage. It shows viewers the stories, philosophies, and cultural memory woven into each piece of brocade. A highlight is the revival of natural dyeing techniques, lost to Banaras for over 125 years.
The exhibition is presented by Chandra Jain and is curated and designed by Chiara Nath and Siddhartha Das of Siddhartha Das Studio. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Padma Shri Laila Tyabji, Founder-Chairperson of Dastkar, whose work has transformed the landscape of craft empowerment in India.
