What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?
Most tech developments focus on Deep Technology projects like ‘Deep Thinking’ and ‘Deep Networking’ but nobody thought towards making a relationship deeper. We came up with this idea of adding enhancement to lovemaking and help them experience ‘Deep Love’.
The brand offers elegant design and focuses majorly on the comfort of the customer. Crafted to enhance the lovemaking experience for couples, LoveRollers helps in conceiving, provides comfort during pregnancy and offers relief from pain during menstruation. Design features like a low arc, high arc and central contour are specially designed for sexual positions. A couple can try more than 100 kama sutra positions with the help of LoveRollers. The team believes that Love making experience can be further improved by means of new age products.
Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?
I am from Agra and grew up in a middle-class family. Both my parents are government employees. I graduated from IIT Delhi with industrial and production engineering background. We designed a lot of products in the institute and my heart lies in product designing. I am an artist by nature. My passion for designing and my engineering background helped me in designing LoveRollers which is a combination of art and mathematics.
I was mostly into management consulting and worked with manufacturing companies, mostly Startups. I always wanted to have my own business. Before finding LoveRollers, I was the Senior Vice President of fintech company Sabpaisa. I also co-founded two other brands namely Shopplu and Poltubaaz.
I love to read and travel. Coming up with a Love making product line requires a practical understanding of people and our research for this creation landed us this successful venture.
I handle Product Development and Business Generation for LoveRollers and aim at building a 500+ cr company within a year
Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?
My startup is based out of NCR ( Kausambhi- Ghz). I believe that Delhi (NCR) is always best place to start a business because it provides easy sourcing of good quality material. It’s easy to hire and build a team with the like-minded people.
As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?
Research-based love making products are going to revolutionize the way people make love and will take couples on an exquisite and life-changing journey. My vision to change the traditional furniture with LoveRollers keeps me awake at night and keeps me wondering how to add more innovation to my product.
Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?
We are the 1st and only manufacturer in India as of now. We are getting awesome feedback on our LoveRollers product line from our users regarding the quality and durability of the products.
How hard is it to have a work life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?
I have fallen in love with my idea, so time is just a reference. Though mostly we work from 11 AM to 7 PM. We use our time communicating with vendors and users including other days to day activities. After 7 PM we think on planning and building new strategies. In short, daytime is good for execution and night time is good for making plan and strategies.
Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If no then please tell us if you are looking to raise.
Currently, I am running LoveRollers with my saving and funds from friends. Yes, we are looking for funds and are open for funding.
What are the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?
I am very transparent about my work. The people in my network know me very well. They know who I am and what I can do, so people generally don’t have any misconception about me or my work.
What gets you excited about this company?
I love challenges, and LoveRollers is and has been like a challenge for us. In India where there is a social barrier and the mindset of people is filled with taboos about sex and sex lifestyle, breaking this barrier keeps me excited.
Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.
Time is just a reference but mostly 11 AM to 7 PM is for communication with vendors, users and day to day activities. After 7 PM however, we think on planning and building new strategies. In short daytime is good for execution and night time is good for making plan and strategies.
Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?
Team building was the first and the toughest challenge for me. I wasn’t looking for any technical people as they are still easy to find. I went on ground level search to find lower level skilled workers and it was pretty challenging. The workers would refuse to work or leave work in between. I went to my own village in Aligarh in order to find skilled labour and build a team. Seeking help from my own village sure helped me in building a team gradually. Better networking helped me in tackling the challenges.
My team members mainly include skilled workers. We have a workshop head and a fabrication head.
