Meet Nupur, a tarot reader. She lovers her profession as a reader and healer. She enjoys each and every part of her profession.
The best part I love about my job is connecting with new people. The more people you meet the more in depth you understand life. I get to learn with every session, how people experience life in same situations and deal with it differently, says Nupur.
We at Bangalore Insider had the opportunity to catch up with her and to know her amazing story. Here are the excerpts from the conversation.
Tell us about yourself, what do you like most about your field of work?
My name is Nupur and I hail from a beautiful small town Harda in Madhya Pradesh.
Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated by everything mystical, magical and fortune telling. Indeed it was during childhood that I experienced many strange visions and experiences which left a strong and lasting impression on me. My father was a great support as he is my first and foremost teacher who introduced occult sciences to me. As of my mother I was also lucky enough to have been brought up with a mission to love and respect people and things we have been blessed in life with. Married to an amazing guy who is not only supportive of my Tarot career but also a great partner to hang out with. He is my soul mate, my friend and my life.

Your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before choosing this field?
I am a PGDHR holder from IMDR (FC Pune). My previous careers found me working as an HR professional with corporate company’s like Deloitte, Virtusa and SS Nirman for 3+ years. My hobbies are singing and dancing and I have been trained in both as a teenager. I still follow both my hobbies and perform in social circles. I have just finished my MA in Psychology, its to understand my clients better, both scientifically and spiritually.
How did you land up doing what you do now?
I was intuitive since childhood and my father identified this when I was 4 year old. We are all born with a purpose I was lucky that I had a mentor in-house to guide me from my first step. As a student, I was always confused and felt incomplete even with good grades. My inner calling was different and I was feeling as a completely different person during that phase. That is when novels became my best friend. Pages by pages took me into a different world all together. My dreams became more structured and it took me towards mysticism. I met my Tarot teacher Mr. Jain in a meditation class at the age of 17 and he asked me to attend one of his free sessions. I enrolled the same day and was the first bencher in his classes as opposed to my B.Com classes during that time. Post my PG and 3 years of job with corporate my father started telling me that your destiny is in occult and its time to take a turn. I left my job and happily joined my world. There was a feeling of freedom and belonging then.
If not the current profession, what would you have been?
I gave up every part of my life and career to become what I am today “A TAROT READER”. Even if I take seven births I will be doing the exact same thing I am doing today.
I love my job as a reader and healer.
What motivates you to keep going?
The cards, the pictures on it, the colours..every thing about my job keeps me going. Its like food to my spirit. There’s not even a single day I am without Tarot. Even if I am travelling I always have a pack with me. I have made few mini charms with Tarot cards in it so that I can wear it too. I have clients who are in touch with me from last 8 years or so. Their faith in me and my work is an affirmation and motivation enough that I should keep going on.
Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.
I like balance in my work and life. I take 3-4 clients a day which is 3-4 hours. Which is divided into morning and late evening sessions. I love preparing meals for my family and I am socially active and like to participate in events happening around. I always end my day with a mini meditation session and a cleansing routine 3 times a week to keep my energy intact.
Any regrets till now? If yes, will you like to share it with our readers?
I thank the angels that I don’t have any regrets. Each experience good or bad have taught me something or the other, each wrong relationship has given me a lot to introspect and each failure has given me a reason to work harder. My close friends often say that I am a head strong person and if I want something I work towards it with all my zeal, you cant scare me easy.
If you were given a choice of meeting any person you want, who will be that person?
Oh I would love love love to meet Paulo Coelho the writer. His book Brida changed my life. I have read most of his work and its enchanting.
What is the biggest misconception that you think people have about you?
Oh that’s the most interesting question I have ever been asked. Whenever I meet I get this a lot “oh you look so much normal”. People think being a Tarot reader I should wear lot of makeup, wear different clothes and look scary all the time. LOL.
I am an open book and whenever I meet people I am quite ok about sharing my life and experience, so people might not carry a lot about me from the first meeting. That is my guess.
Any message that you want to send to your readers?
Every reading is an amazing experience, its like connecting to yourself. You should try out a Tarot Reading at least once in your life. Its not just a future reading its beyond that. Based on your present your future is based and yes you can hence influence you future with your current actions. I believe in past life and so there are few life lessons designed for every individual which cannot be controlled, that’s when you start making peace with the turmoil and positively move forward not looking backwards. Luck is like the cherry on top you have to work your way up and then it comes to you. These are my belief sets, I follow this and preach the same and this is my message to all the people reading out there.
