Video content presents an out of body experience like no other.

It captivates and makes people erupt in joy or sorrow, among a myriad of emotions that human beings are capable of feeling. The director wants his or her audience to feel a range of emotions, as the viewer tries to understand the plot of the film in question. The best directors are capable of turning our worlds upside down, and this is the reason why fictional characters and plotlines resonate so much in the real world, with fans of a film imagining a story’s plot line resonating in their own daily lives.

The internet has democratized the media landscape, as viewing choices have exploded in number. From traditional Television networks to internet giants like Google and Amazon embedding themselves into ‘Smart TVs’ to YouTube and subscription OTT platforms like Netflix and Hotstar, we live in an era of virtually infinite video content. Now all we need is to filter the choices around us in order to find the most suitable recommendations for us to watch something (like Netflix’s recommendation algorithm or suggestions from friends and family)

Today at Bangalore Insider we spoke to Vikash, the director of ‘Parchhai’, an upcoming film release and he helped us with an overview about the storyline of the film in addition to discussing his views about the Indian ecosystem in general. Below are the excerpts from our interaction.

Tell us in brief, about the storyline of ‘Parchhai’. What is the most interesting part in the story?

Ans: Parchhai is the story of a girl who is trying to recollect her past thoughts. She is pondering upon those actions which led her to take certain decisions in her life. Those decisions which even after a decade are not just with her like a shadow but also are forcing her to mend her ways. The most interesting part is that the girl has got over with the insanity few months back.

Where will the movie be released for the general public to watch it and when?

Ans. The movie will be released on a premium OTT platform.

How do you think the storyline of ‘Parchhai’ will resonate in popular culture? Will it resonate more so with a particular community of people?

Ans. In every culture, youngsters are prone to flawed decisions in their life and hence youngsters will find it relatable. The teenagers will resonate more as they will find a way to get over with their past.

What do you think about the film production talent in India today?

Ans. The film production has witnessed a revolutionary change in the recent times. The OTT platforms have made the scope wider for the producers. Independent filmmaking had also contributed a lot in this field.

What do you look for when trying to find the best people for particular roles?

Ans. We just look who can aptly suit to the particular character. Can that actor/actress portray the range of emotions which that character is carrying along with him.

How are you feeling after Zindagi being selected in the Sincine Film Festival 2020?

Ans. I am just speechless. I am completely indebted to my viewers who had showered their praise and love.
