Give a brief info about your startup?

The name of our startup is WiseWords Interactive Studio Private Limited. We are a creative studio who provide content development and digital marketing services.

What made you start your startup and what problem does it solve?

We believe that entrepreneurship is a mindset and a journey. Rather than hunting for jobs in a web of non-responsive application tracking systems, we decided to start our own firm.

There is a lot of communication gap today, and as a direct result, cultures and ideas don’t synchronise and business doesn’t take place. We exist to give a voice to entrepreneurs and organisations in a way that they feel empowered to represent their business to the global audience, through content and digital marketing.

Tell us about yourself, your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before this startup?

My partner and me have different experiences.

I, Ayaz Zanzeria, am an automobile engineer with nearly 17 years of work experience under my belt. I have worked with different companies in different domains. My work experience spans a variety of roles and responsibilities. Throughout my professional journey, I have seen multiple movements especially in terms of learning, knowledge, skills, handling responsibilities, dealing with people, situations, etc.

I, Varun Choraria, currently am an undergrad student of Mechanical Engineering. I started my career by working as an independent marketing consultant for a Chinese media Company, and then invested into my first company, WiseWords. Along the way, I have been a part of several organisations and have grown businesses. I am also the author of “Miracle-preneuring”, which has received a lot of positive reviews from literary critics.

Where is your startup based out of? Why do you think that is the best place for you?

Our startup is based in HSR Layout in Bangalore. HSR for one is a very happening place with many companies based around that corridor. Business and lifestyle advantages are great. However, location will never be an issue or a constraint. We could have been based in any part of the country or the world. Ours is a very modern business, and we believe in a virtual lifestyle- run your business from your laptop from anywhere around the world.

As a startup founder, what are you paranoid about? What keeps you awake at night?

Paranoia is a very relative term and as a wholesome response, I think what keeps me awake at night is how can I give a unique and new marketing experience to my customers and grow our online presence in a way that it becomes an online marketing handbook for executives- “marketing expertise on the go!”.

Who are your competitions and how are you better than them?

There are plenty of freelancers and other companies who offer content writing and digital marketing services at ridiculously low rates. However, either their quality of content is not upto the mark of international standards or they lack the creative thinking aspect that we have. We do not believe in black hat methods, or in simple words, using unethical tricks to grow your numbers on google. We are a process-oriented marketing firm, and we time our strategies as per the pace of the client’s company- most others opt for a “one size fits all”, while we choose to analyse the business and the market and help them plan their marketing activities in a way that it gets consistent growth results, without unreasonable expenses.

How hard is it to have a work-life balance as a startup founder and how do you manage it?

We are very strong advocates of allocating time aside for family and personal life. We have a religious routine and look to allocate certain amounts of time for family every day.

Have you raised funding? If yes, then we would like to know the details. If not, then please tell us if you are looking to raise.

We have not raised funding. We are not willing to get an investor on board our company. We prefer being bootstrapped as despite being a long-shot process, it works better for a lot of aspects of the organisation in the long term.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about you? Why do they have that? What’s the reality?

The biggest misconception about me is that people think that I am very strict or rigid or robotic. The reason is that I am far too process oriented. I like to do things as per a process. If there is none, then set one.

What gets you excited about this company?

People reach out to us because of the creativity in our thoughts and our process-oriented approach. We deliver honest services to our clients which are free from any encumbrances. We charge a premium price, but we ensure quality and timeliness in our deliveries, without sacrificing on the authenticity of our work.

Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.

My partner and me have different schedules.

I do not have a fixed schedule, rather it varies. I usually wake up anywhere between 8 am to 10 am in the mornings (depending on how late I slept at night). After an hour, I am ready for work after breakfast with family. I usually work from home, sometimes, I go to office (depends on my mood). I usually have lunch with family at around 1.30 pm. After that, I continue to work if need be else, I sleep for some time (afternoon nap). In the evening, I continue work after a cup of tea or coffee (depending on my mood). I take a dinner break with family at around 8.30 pm. After that, if there is some urgent work to be completed, I continue to work until late night else I watch movies or serials from YouTube.

Apart from this, if I have meetings scheduled with clients or with someone else, I attend to those during the day. Recently, I have joined the British Council library out here – another place where my partner and me can hang out to discuss work, browse books, work, learn, more work and more learning. The weekends for me are generally reserved for a little bit of grocery shopping with family.

My day starts and ends with all the things my heart wishes to do. I’m a man of my dreams and fancies-so no fixed routine as such.

Tell us about your team and how did you meet each other?

Our team consists of two Founder Directors. We met each other on LinkedIn via interactions on posts and comments. Since we were in the same domain initially, we thought of joining hands instead of fighting for space. That way we expressed our desire to expand and that’s what we did. We expanded our horizons and reach.
