YouWe And Events is a Delhi based startup founded by Vedika Tripathi.
Blogging is my hobby, it is a medium for me to share my food stories. I started it with my childhood friend Rajni, says Vedika.
We got an opportunity to talk with Vedika, and see what she has to say. I am sure her interview with us will inspire you.
Tell us about yourself, what do you like most about your field of work?
Hello, I am Vedika Tripathi, cofounder YouWe And Events and Food blogger at Yummy Junction , my food blog. Dancer by choice, painting charms, writing my own verses under the pen name रंगबाज़.
I am the “Versatile Vedika” CONFIDENT &COMPASSIONATE Lady. Married to the love of my life.
About what I like most about my work is the new challenges it brings with every new project, in events no two weddings or parties are same they have to be different and there my creative side jumps in to solve the challenge. So you can say the creativity and the challenge of creating new is what I like the most about my work.
Blogging is my hobby, it is a medium for me to share my food stories. I started it with my childhood friend Rajni.
Your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before choosing this field?
I have 10 years of work experience, I don’t know how but after being a marketing Executive at career launcher in 2009, I had this opportunity to plan an engagement ceremony for one of my friends relatives and from there on I am into events, in 2010 i ventured into event business with my savings and a room in my dads office. Then I needed capital and I got the position of Event Officer at Shemrock Schools Corporate office , handling events and sponsorships for all Delhi Ncr branches. Then in 2011 i changed and went into media Measurements and Research with Impact Measurements and Research where I got so much to know about PR, media, News monitoring etc handled clients from India as well as abroad, in 2012 i joined Abbott Nutrition India as Regional Events Officer North India but yes I never left doing events which were very sidelined due to this full time job.
In 2015 i left Abbott (Regional Events Manager North India)due to my health issues which did not allow me to travel excessively and then I joined a Startup called Magic Food Box as Social Media Manager which I left in 2016 because of the owner.
Since 2014 my friend was seeing my side business here and there, in 2016 he suggested that I do a partnership with him and follow my dreams and thus, YOUWE AND EVENTS was born.
He is now my husband and cofounder of YouWe And Events .. Mr Upadesh Yadav.
How did you land up doing what you do now?
A friends relatives engagement that I planned all in fun in 2009 led me into events and eventually to be a cofounder.
If not the current profession, what would you have been?
I am a state level winner in Dramatics, so if not this I would have been into acting or theatre.
What motivates you to keep going?
My all motivation comes from my god, Late President Abdul Kalam, and my teachers one who has inspired me a lot My hindi Teacher MEERA SINGH Mam and other who has influenced me a lot with her thinking and straightforward approach Mrs.KAMLESH MADAN.
Also when in class 9th I was barely able to use my right hand due to a cyst in my brain (now my hand is alright but cyst remains) then life taught me no matter what happens never be dependent on anyone and also that life is so short so one must fulfill one’s dreams.
Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.
A day in my life is very normal, I get up at 6 am, drink a glass of water, do 20 mints of excercise and have my green tea, then I water the plants and get busy with my household chores, at 8.30 I perform the Puja ,at 10.00 am I am at office checking my dairy of projects and appointments , then I make my calls, send mails , and during lunch do some social media, after the lunch I am mostly at meetings. If I don’t have long meetings then I home by 7 or 7.30 pm and then I drink my tea check news and start my dinner preps. While my dinner cooks I dance for 15 minutes daily, I am a trained dancer. By 9.30pm we are done with the dinner and then I watch tv with my hubby, and 10.30 pm I get up , pick up some book read, by 11.00 I am on my sleeping center -my bed where I listen to some soft music and then I fall asleep max to max by 12 Am .
